This course aims to introduce participants to analytical tools and techniques to be able to solve basic problems as well as recognise the opportunities for improvements in the operational environment, by the application of the learnt knowledge and skills or by related but more advanced techniques.

  • Financial aspects of vehicle purchasing, management and replacement
  • Client service and marketing of the transport product
  • Analysis of current road transport legislation
  • Vehicle routing and scheduling and the use of Transport Management Systems (TMS).
  • The theory and practice of optimisation, simulation and queuing.
  • Practical application of logistic techniques to vehicle scheduling, warehouse design and location.

 

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

The training methodology combines lectures, discussions, group exercises and illustrations. Participants will gain both theoretical and practical knowledge of the topics. The emphasis is on the practical application of the topics and as a result participant will go back to the workplace with both the ability and the confidence to apply the techniques learned to their duties.
